Definition
A Meldezettel is the Austrian residence-registration form used to notify the local authority of a person's address. It is one of the first practical steps after arrival and is often needed for later administration such as tax, banking, and social-insurance tasks. Although it is not itself an immigration permit, it is a foundational arrival document that many other systems expect to see.
