Definition
Permit renewal is the administrative process used to extend an existing temporary immigration status before its validity ends. Renewal rules usually require the applicant to keep meeting the original conditions, such as remaining employed, maintaining insurance, or preserving sufficient income. Some countries allow renewal only from inside the country, while others require additional evidence or a new employer-side filing when the work relationship has changed.
