Accountancy regulation is variable across Europe. General accounting, bookkeeping, and financial analysis roles are typically not regulated and accessible via standard work permits. However, statutory audit sign-off rights, use of protected titles (such as Wirtschaftsprüfer in Germany or Commissaire aux comptes in France), and certain other reserved activities require registration with the national professional body.

Current waiting-time statistics list 75% of complete first-time "other employment" cases within 4 months, but incomplete files stretch much longer.

At least EUR 59,373 gross per year under the 21 August 2025 order; verify the live amount before filing.
Processing time
If the stay is under 12 months, Service Public says a VLS-TS talent visa is issued and must be validated within 3 months; at 1 year or more, file for the card online within 2 months after entry.
Ireland
Critical Skills Employment Permit
Min. salary
EUR 40,904 for listed critical-skills roles, EUR 36,848 for recent relevant graduates, or over EUR 68,911 for other eligible occupations; public-sector pay-agreement roles use the agreed rate.

For regulated accountancy roles (statutory audit, protected titles), the recognition procedure goes through the national professional body under the general-system procedure of EU Directive 2005/36/EC. For most commercial accountancy and finance roles, standard work permit routes apply without a recognition requirement.
