Definition
A recognised sponsor is an employer, university, or organisation that has received a formal approved status from the immigration authority for use in specific migration routes. In the Netherlands, this status is especially important for highly skilled migrant, researcher, and certain study routes, because it changes how the case is filed and what responsibilities the organisation carries. Recognition does not guarantee approval of every worker, but it is often a mandatory route condition.
