Definition
Visa-free entry means a traveller can enter a country or visa area without first obtaining a visa from a consulate. In Europe, many non-EU nationals may enter the Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, but that does not usually allow them to take ordinary local employment or remain long term. Applicants still need the correct work or residence authorisation if they plan to work, settle, or switch into a long-stay route.
