Definition

A short-stay visa, usually called a Type C Schengen visa, lets a non-EU national enter and travel within the Schengen Area for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period. It is designed for temporary purposes such as tourism, business meetings, conferences, or family visits. It does not itself create a right to live long term in the issuing state, and it usually does not permit ordinary employment in the local labour market.
